| Chicago, IL (Sports Network) - The Pittsburgh Pirates activated first baseman Derrek Lee from the 15-day disabled list Saturday. Lee was placed on the DL on August 13 because of a fractured bone in his left wrist. Lee, acquired from Baltimore just prior to the trade deadline, has not played since August 9. He was hit on the wrist by Chicago's Carlos Marmol on August 3, then sat out four games before returning for the next two. Lee has played in just five games for the Pirates since the July 30 |

| Chicago, IL (Sports Network) - Pittsburgh Pirates outfielder Andrew McCutchen left Friday's game against the Cubs after being struck on the left hand with a pitch. In the first inning, Ryan Dempster threw a fastball that hit the top of McCutchen's hand. He was able to run the bases but did not take the field in the bottom half of the inning. Alex Presley moved from left field to center and Jose Tabata came off the bench to play left. Tabata did not start because of an injured wrist. |
